Frequently Asked Questions
  • Can (human) kids come to goat yoga?
For the safety of the child and our goats, we prefer them to be around 8 years old and comfortable around animals. They should be able to make it through a fun yoga class and not wander around. The goats do not discriminate who they jump on so please use your own discretion when bringing a child.

  • Do I need to bring my own yoga mat?
Yes. We are NOT renting mats right now because of COVID-19. Towels and blankets work fine, too.

  • What can I expect from the goats?
Our goats are very social and people-oriented. They do play with other goats by head-butting and jumping. We cannot control when they decide to play, we just encourage you to be aware of your surroundings. They do not head butt humans and they will never purposely hurt you. They do like to climb and may climb on you, you are more than welcome to give them a gentle shove off of you, but be aware goats are stubborn and sometimes their hooves can be uncomfortable based on your sensitivity. If you have injuries or sensitivities that require you to be extra careful, we will do our best to accommodate you but cannot guarantee the goats do not jump on you. Take this into consideration before you decide to attend a class.
  • Goats have different moods for the day, just like humans. One class they may be hyper and playful, another class they may be calm and want to snuggle. They do get scared with loud and/or sudden noises, so we ask that you please try to control screaming or yelling at the classes.
  • You will probably get a little dirty. Our goats are pretty clean as far as farm animals go, but if it has been raining or is shedding season, expect to go home lightly decorated by the goats.
  • We clean up messes as quickly as possible and provide sanitizer, but if the thought of animal accidents terrifies you, we hate to tell you but a goat yoga class may not be for you.

  • Are there hand-washing stations or hand-sanitizer provided?
Yes, we will have plenty of hand-sanitizer and a portable sink for hand washing.

  • Are there refunds?
Yes, but you must cancel before 24 hours before the class. If you fail to do so or are a “No-Show” you forfeit your booking fee. No other refunds will be given unless it is due to weather and you could not reschedule with us.

  • What if it rains?
Because we are remaining outdoors due to COVID-19 and inclimate weather will result in cancelling class. Participants will be able to reschedule or be emailed gift certificates. Participants will be informed at least 2 hours prior to class by email and/or text message.

  • What type of yoga do you do in this class?
It is an all-skills level Hatha yoga class. The class will focus on breathing and relaxing your mind. There will be a mixture of beginner or expert yoga positions. However, our Instructor is trained to help you and you are never forced to try a yoga position. The goats will be mingling with you as you do yoga. Sometimes they will jump on you, cuddle up next to you, or just beg for pets.

  • Do I have to participate in the yoga part of the class?
No, some people just like to come and sit and cuddle with the goats, but this is a yoga class. We will have other events in the future that will be friendly to every age and won't be a yoga class. Feel free to contact us if you have event ideas or want to book a private event.

  • Can I bring family or friends to watch?
No, they would need to pay for a class. We have limited parking and space that needs to be given directly to the class and clients. If you have a special request, are an adult bringing minors but not participating, or arrange with us ahead of time, we might be able to accommodate your request.

  • What breed of goats are they?
Most are Nigerian dwarf. We do have a few Mini-Lamanchas, too. These goats are the perfect size for goat yoga. Also, we just love everything about them!
  • How long is the class?
The yoga portion of the class will be 45ish minutes. The goats will also be mingling the entire time, but we give a 15 minute wind-down and time to really get to know our goats!

  • Will I get pooped on?
We hope not! However, goats can’t really control when they have to go “#2.” You can usually tell when they are about to urinate and they are pretty good about controlling that appropriately. You could possibly find some pellets around. Should they land on or around you, they are round pellets that easily roll off and we will have someone with a broom ready at all times!

  • Do you force the goats to participate?
No. The goats are not forced to stand on your back or do tricks. We might put them on your back but whether they stay or pose is up to them. Our classes are not a required performance for them. The goats genuinely just prefer to be by humans and all they really want is to be pet and receive affection.

  • Is this a form of Animal-Assisted therapy?
Yes. The focus of this class is not just to take pictures for Instagram. The focus is to combine nature, goats and yoga in order to disconnect with the stresses of life. Combining those three things is very therapeutic and works as a happy distraction from whatever you may be going through, whether that be depression, stress, disease, disabilities or anything.

  • Do you do private classes?
Yes, please contact us for more information! We also come to your location, as long as there is an area to keep the goats contained.

  • Do you do any other events?
We are still working in growing our business, so we are always open to new ideas. We do offer "Goats n Chill" events listed on the schedule. We also have done "Goat-grams" where you can schedule a goat or two for a visit to your event!
We plan to do charity events, kid-friendly events, and other community events. If you have any information or questions about community events please contact us! We are open to discussing events where we bring the goats.
